The Jungle The Jungle by Upton Sinclair is about a Lithuanian family living in Chicago in the 1900ââ¬â¢s. They had confidence in the American dream, wanting to begin another and fruitful life. Shockingly they were denied of they expectations and dreams. They were put in a general public where just the most grounded and most extravagant endure. The rich continue getting more extravagant and the poor get much less fortunate. Jurgis and his family went to extraordinary lengths just in order to find a vocation, they had to go in overwhelming precipitation, solid breezes, and thick day off, when they were debilitated, in dread of losing their positions. The Jungle brought up numerous defects in the public arena, for example, dirty meat and sickening work conditions.
